Blue Light Filter

Keep your peepers tip top.

Hold up, what the heck is blue light? Ok, weโ€™re going to make this as simple as possible without dragging you into a science class. Blue light is a colour in the visible light spectrum that can be seen by the human eye. Blue light is short in wavelength, which means it produces higher amounts of energy. Youโ€™re actually exposed to it every day, particularly if you spend long periods behind a computer screen, tablet, or mobile device.

Long story short, it can cause serious damage. While ultraviolet light is absorbed mainly by the front section of the eye, the blue-purple spectrum actually reaches the retina. It appears that if youโ€™re exposing yourself for long periods of time, itโ€™s particularly damaging.

Ok, so how do you protect your peepers? We have something called The Blue Light Filter. The cost to add this to a pair of glasses is โ‚ฌ20. If you already have a pair of Ace & Tate glasses, the cost to replace single vision lenses to blue light filter lenses is โ‚ฌ/ยฃ68.

The filter gives your lenses a slightly yellow tint. If you want the most beautiful result, then we recommend staying away from transparent frames when buying glasses with a Blue Light Filter.
