Knowing the collaboration was set to launch on Valentine’s Day, Polly decided to focus her ideas around a theme of desire. In her words, "I wanted to design something sexy and playful without compromising on the darker themes and characters that my work is known for."

She is always inspired by the thoughts and feelings that we conceal within ourselves, so we created a frame out of three layers of semi-transparent material with the illustration printed on the inside, allowing it to only be seen subtly.

Polly opted for a deep cherry red colour which to her, "Evokes images of roses, red wine, lipstick kisses", and of course a nod to the red demons that recur throughout her work.

"I wanted to design something sexy and playful without compromising on the darker themes and characters that my work is known for."
After deciding on the colour, she designed bespoke illustrations that span the entire inner surface of the frames, featuring sultry demon eyes camouflaged amongst the type of line detail that always features on the skin of her demon characters.

The design embodies several iconic elements of her work, whilst also creating a bold and crucially, wearable pair of sunglasses. "It was really important to me that as well as being cool, unique and creative, I want them to be a wardrobe staple I would reach to wear myself for years to come, something I aim for with any garment or accessory I design," says Polly.
