If you’ve ever been hesitant about buying glasses online, worry no more. We’re about to show you how easy we’ve made it — just follow these steps.
First things first
If you know your prescription from back to front, or don’t need a prescription at all, you can skip straight down to section number 2 where you can explore our collection.
But, if you wanna learn more about your eye’s sphere measurement and pupillary distance — and we recommend you do — let us guide you through some fundamentals.
1. Eye care support
Know your prescription
The numbers on your prescription are ingredients for the recipe that makes your glasses. We dive deep into it all here — give it a read to distinguish a sphere from a cylinder, or discover whether you’re long- or short-sighted. You might even find it interesting. Don’t have a prescription yet or have one that’s more than two years old? Visit one of our stores and get an eye test.
Measure your PD
We can’t tell you how many people forget to measure their pupillary distance (PD) when ordering glasses — we need it to make sure your lenses align properly with your eyes. After you've placed your online order, we'll send you an email with a link to our online tool — you'll be able measure the distance between your pupils in just a few seconds. Find out how here.
2. Explore our collection
Okay, we’ve got the hard bit out of the way, now it’s time to find the frame of your dreams.
By now, you’ve probably got a shortlist of styles, but if you’re still having trouble choosing, let us introduce you to Home Try-On (available in DE, UK, BE, AT and FR).
Pick four frames (opticals only), have them delivered to your doorstep and spend five days getting familiar with them. When you’ve chosen the winner, send them back to us and order your future frame on our website.
Bonus? It’s completely free. We know, we’re so generous — just don’t forget to return them.
Unsure of what glasses suit you online? the Ace & Tate Fitting Room will help you find your perfect fit.
It uses innovative 3D face-mapping technology to scan your face to find frames that fit like they were made just for you. Accuracy is the name of this game, so your scan will take 7-10 minutes, but once done, you’ll know exactly which frames to go for. Sound good? Get things rolling by downloading our Ace & Tate Fitting Room app on your phone (compatible only with iOS for now), which you’ll need for your scan.
Hopefully we’ve given you enough tools to aid your search. Once you’ve picked the top dog, get your prescription and Pupillary Distance ready and let’s move on to the checkout.
3. Order, sit tight & wait for love at first sight
Once ordered and depending on your prescription, your (sun)glasses will be ready within 1-2 weeks. And we’ll keep in touch so you know exactly when to expect your delivery — saves you waiting at the doorstep.
Glasses can be a tricky thing, however, and we understand that things don’t always go right on the first try. That’s why we offer a 30 day return policy, just in case you’re not 100% happy — read all about it here. Pop into your local store, or get in touch with our customer experience team and we’ll do all we can to put a smile on your face.
