Verantwoordelijkheid bij Ace & Tate
De mooie dingen die we hebben gedaan
(en de dingen waar we nog aan moeten werken)
Read our 2024 Report

A message from us
Let’s be real: true sustainability doesn’t exist. Not for us, not for anyone. But that doesn’t stop us from taking responsibility and doing better, step by step.

As corporate responsibility shifts from 'nice to have' to legally required, we aim to go beyond the basics. We want to lead not only with words, but with action. Holding ourselves accountable and pushing the industry forward, away from surface-level fixes and toward real, lasting impact.

We’re committed to driving systemic change and demanding accountability, both from ourselves and the industry. And every person counts. From the product teams rethinking materials and our store staff who help customers make informed choices, to suppliers who support the shift on the ground. We’re all part of the journey towards net-zero impact.

Responsibility isn’t a checkbox, it’s how we work. We take the time to do our homework, ask tough questions and make thoughtful choices. The eyewear industry still has a long way to go, but we’re seeing momentum build.

This report builds on everything we’ve done before. But this time, we’re going deeper.

Enjoy following our journey.

Key Takeaways
Our report in a nutshell
We drive materials with a lower environmental footprint
All Tier 1 frame suppliers have adopted the Materials Matrix, helping us advance the use of materials with a lower environmental footprint. We’ve moved away from Acetate Renew Bio to explore more sustainable alternatives that better meet our needs. Although our recycled acetate and metal use didn’t reach planned targets, we continue to increase recycled content in our collections.
We use lenses with a lower impact
100% of our non-prescription sun lenses are now crafted from Tritanâ„¢ Renew, a material with up to 50% ISCC-certified recycled content (mass balance approach). Find out more about our Materials.
We work towards product traceability
We now have full visibility of our Tier 1 and Tier 2 frame suppliers, and over 60% visibility at Tier 3. For lenses, we have achieved full transparency at Tier 1 and over 60% at Tier 2.
We prioritise ethical production
100% of our Tier 1 suppliers are conducting thorough ethical and environmental audits.
We give back
We have donated over 1,500 kg of prescription and sun lenses to support vital eye care in Ghana (Eyes on Ghana) and Cambodia (Cambodia Vision Project, in partnership with our lens supplier).
We monitor our environmental impact
We’ve completed LCAs for all 1,449 frames to better understand our environmental footprint. While we calculated science-aligned targets in 2023, we prioritised improving data quality before submitting to SBTi. We are not yet on track to meet our 42% CO₂-eq reduction goal by 2030, but are working on a credible decarbonisation plan to close the gap.
