How to get yours?
If visiting a store, our team in-place of retail assistants will measure your PD in just a few seconds. But if you’re buying glasses online and don’t already know your PD, see the steps below.
Step 1
Order your new glasses online and, once your order is complete, click 'Measure your PD' at checkout.
Step 2
Get your laptop or phone camera ready, along with a card that has a magnetic strip.
Step 3
Complete the simple instructions, and our tool will automatically measure and add your PD to your order. We'll then immediately begin crafting your new glasses.

Check Your History: If you’ve bought glasses from us before, check your previous Ace & Tate order details. Alternatively, you can give your previous optician a quick call to request it.
Online Tool: Click 'Measure My PD online' during checkout. All you need is your phone or laptop camera and a card with a magnetic strip. Follow the quick prompts to automatically measure your PD, add it to your order, click continue, and voilà!
Ordering your new glasses is easy and getting your pupillary distance (PD) is just as simple.
Step 1: Order your new glasses online and, once your order is complete, click 'Measure your PD' at checkout.

Step 3: Our tool will automatically measure and add your PD to your order so we can begin crafting your new glasses.
Here's a preview of the simple steps you'll follow to measure your PD:
1. Place your phone or computer on a steady surface in a well-lit room.
2. Open the link to our online measurement tool from our follow-up email.
3. Turn up the volume so you can hear the instructions.
4. Look directly into the camera, not at yourself—despite the temptation.
5. Heads-up: If you wear glasses, please take them off for the scan.
6. Grab your bank card (or anything with a magnetic strip). Light-colored cards work best.
7. Start the scan—and make sure you’ve allowed access to your camera.
8. Hold the bank card by its top corner and press it flat on your forehead. We might ask you to make small adjustments—just go with it.
9. Consider it done! The scan will get your PD, and we'll immediately add it to your order.
Whilst the distance between your pupils is one length, you’ll have to halve it to work out the PD for each eye, e.g. if your PD is 60mm, your left and right eyes will be 30mm each. If you can’t halve your PD to a round number, no problem - split them to the closest 0.5mm, e.g. if your PD is 60.5mm, fill in: right = 30mm, left = 30.5mm. We see this quite a bit so, don’t worry, we know how to deal with it.
The average PD is somewhere between 58-68mm. If yours falls outside this, or you have a prescription over +/-6 SPH, get in touch with us, and we’ll give you a helping hand. Visiting one of our stores? Easy, our retail assistants will measure your PD for you.
