Lens indexing is a numbered system — the higher the index, the thinner the lens. We use a range from 1.5, 1.6, 1.67 and now 1.74. Find out more here.
1.74 high index lenses have everything you need in a condensed size — they’re up to 50% thinner than 1.5 lenses, so get ready for your sleekest look yet. Our Ultra Thin Lenses are lighter too, meaning less annoying nose slide.
Big prescription, little lens
If your prescription is above +/-4 dioptres (that’s a unit of measurement in your prescription), you’re gonna like the ultra thin look of high index lenses.
Ultra Thin Lenses are necessary for especially high prescriptions. You’ll definitely need them for:
Metal frames with a prescription of +/-6 dioptres
Acetate frames with a prescription of +/-7.5 dioptres
You won’t need Ultra Thin Lenses if you’ve got a prescription lower than +/-4 dioptres. We’ll select the thinnest lenses suited to your prescription from our standard index range; 1.5, 1.6 or 1.67 for free.
Shop Neil & other metal frames
Always wanted metal frames, but never been able to wear them ‘cause your lenses are too thick? Worry no more!
Our Ultra Thin Lenses fit neatly into any frame, so now you can wear your fave metal styles, like Neil and Jay.
