Keep your peepers tip top.
Hold up, what the heck is blue light? Ok, we’re going to make this as simple as possible without dragging you into a science class. Blue light is a colour in the visible light spectrum that can be seen by the human eye. Blue light is short in wavelength, which means it produces higher amounts of energy. You’re actually exposed to it every day, particularly if you spend long periods behind a computer screen, tablet, or mobile device.
Long story short, it can cause serious damage. While ultraviolet light is absorbed mainly by the front section of the eye, the blue-purple spectrum actually reaches the retina. It appears that if you’re exposing yourself for long periods of time, it’s particularly damaging.
Ok, so how do you protect your peepers? We have something called The Blue Light Filter. The cost to add this to a pair of glasses is SEK 248. If you already have a pair of Ace & Tate glasses, the cost to replace single vision lenses to blue light filter lenses is €/£68.
The filter gives your lenses a slightly yellow tint. If you want the most beautiful result, then we recommend staying away from transparent frames when buying glasses with a Blue Light Filter.
