All of our glasses are designed in-house at our Amsterdam HQ, and all of our frames are handcrafted with great care from the highest quality materials, in specialist factories in Italy, Cambodia, or China. You can read more about design and manufacturing processes, here.

We offer three types of lenses: Essential, Premium and Supreme.

All our glasses come with standard, high-quality lenses. We call them Essential, as they offer all the essential features for good vision and ease of use. If you're looking to level up with upgraded coatings and benefits we have Premium and Supreme Lenses too. Read more here.

In one of our stores. We only adjust Ace & Tate frames, and adjustments are free of charge for all of our customers.

If you collect your glasses in-store, our team can adjust your frames when you pick them up if necessary. If you buy your frames online, then you can still swing by any of our retail locations if you need an adjustment, no appointment is necessary.

Most local opticians are happy to perform frame adjustments for a small fee, so head to your nearest opticians.

How do I know if I need an adjustment?

Here are some signs of poorly fitting frames:

• You get dizzy when you wear them

• They slip down your nose

• The arms don’t fully sit on your ears

• You feel pressure on the wrong points – e.g. on your temples (too tight or too loose)

• The nose pads aren't dividing pressure evenly (they don’t sit straight)

These issues can often be resolved by adjusting your frames!

Yes, we offer a frame replacement service in all of our stores (this is not available online/via the post). If your frame has broken and the damage is not covered by our warranty policy, then you can purchase a new frame (of the same model), and we'll switch your existing lenses into it.

If your glasses are less than two years old, then a frame replacement costs €/£85. If you purchased your frames more than two years ago, then a replacement costs {basePrice}

Please note: this service is only available if the style is still available and the lenses fit the new frame.

Yes! Replacing old lenses with new ones is called reglazing. You may need to reglaze your glasses if they are scratched, or if you've got an updated prescription.

We can reglaze your glasses in all of our stores. If you'd like your new lenses on the same day, it's always worth calling the store in advance to check that they have your lenses in stock, it saves you going in for nothing! (Our Same Day Service costs an additional £30)

Our Blue Light Filter costs an additional £30

We offer two types of lenses in our clear optical glasses: standard and premium.

All of our lenses are made in laboratories from lightweight, impact-resistant plastics and come with anti-reflection and anti-scratch coatings, plus UV protection. Our premium lenses have superior coatings and are thinner and lighter. For more on premium lenses, take a look at our premium lens page.

For customers who need both distance and near vision correction, varifocals are a great option, as it means you don't have to switch between two pairs of glasses. A varifocal lens blends both the distance and near prescription into one seamless progressive lens.

When looking through the top of the lens, the distance will be in focus. This transitions through an intermediate prescription, to the near prescription at the bottom of the lens.

Relax Lenses are designed to combat digital fatigue symptoms and support the function of stable near-vision throughout the day when using digital devices. To achieve clear near vision, the natural lens within the eye continually has to change shape, which in turn causes fatigue and eye strain symptoms. Relax Lenses support this process by using a plus power in the lower half of the lens, which alleviates the stress on the natural lens when viewing smartphones, tablets and laptops.

Relax Lenses can be purchased online and in-store.

Buying Relaxed Lenses online is easy. Once you've chosen a frame, you can configure your lenses in two simple steps. In the first step of configuration, select Relax lenses. Alternatively, after selecting "Single vision lenses," you can add the Relax lenses option.

Yes, you can combine these lenses with our other lens upgrades, including Blue Light Filter, for added benefits.

Digital eye fatigue is also known as computer vision syndrome or digital eye strain. Symptoms include:

• Blurred vision with tired or aching eyes

• Eye strain, fatigue & headaches while using digital devices

• Delayed focus when transitioning between devices

Our Premium Lenses are for any prescriptions. But if you have a prescription above +/- 6.00 you are required to get Supreme Lenses.

Blue light is a colour in the visible light spectrum with a short wavelength, meaning it produces higher amounts of energy. We’re exposed to it every day, particularly those of us who spend long periods outdoors, or behind a screen.

We offer a special filter that protects your eyes from this blue light.

Including our Blue Light Filter in your lenses costs an additional £30.

Don’t need glasses? No problem! Our Screen Glasses are non-prescription frames fitted with BLF lenses to block those misbehaving blue rays.

Our Blue Light Filter (BLF) does give lenses a subtle blueish tint, and the higher your prescription, the more visible this tint will be.

For this reason, we don't recommend BLF for anyone who works with colour (eg. designers/artists), as it can slightly alter colour perception.

We also recommend pairing your Blue Light lenses with darker frames if you're bothered by the tint, and avoiding transparent ones.

Most of our sunglasses have a Category 3 sunlight filter, which is perfect for day-to-day protection.

Our Ski Goggle lenses range from Category 1 to Category 3 - so check the website for more information.

Yes, we do! We’re able to guarantee a 98% polarisation efficiency with our Polarised Lenses, and they cost an additional £50.

We can polarise your prescription sunnies if your prescription falls within these parameters:

• Single vision: A Sphere (SPH) of between -10.00. and +8.00 diopters and a Cyl of up to -6.00

• Varifocal: A Sphere (SPH) of between -10.00. and +8.00 diopters and a Cyl of up to -4.00

We can't polarise gradient lenses of any prescription, sorry!

Regular acetate is made from cellulose granules, that have a base of wood pulp or cotton. The cellulose is mixed with a pigment and an oil-based plasticiser to create the sleek looking, durable acetate sheets that most our frames are made of.

Bio acetate, on the other hand is made with a bio-based plasticiser. This makes the material biodegradable (after 115 days in industrial setting), but not compostable. It has a lower carbon footprint and that it reduces our reliance on non-renewable resources.

Lastly, the material is more easily recyclable than regular acetate. Neat, huh?
